Invisalign or Braces? How to Choose

Once you've decided it's time to straighten your teeth, the next question is almost always the same: Invisalign or traditional braces? Both work well, and both can achieve genuinely great results — the right choice really comes down to your specific case and how you live day to day.

Traditional braces are still the more predictable option for complex cases — significant crowding, major bite issues, or corrections that need precise, continuous force. They're fixed to your teeth the whole time, which means no risk of forgetting to wear them, but they do come with more visible hardware and a few more food restrictions along the way.

Invisalign, using clear removable aligners, tends to be the better fit for mild to moderate corrections and for people who don't want the appearance of metal brackets. You can eat normally, brush and floss like you always have, and most people find them noticeably more comfortable. The trade-off is that results depend on actually wearing them as directed — typically 20 to 22 hours a day — so it takes some discipline.

Treatment time is fairly similar for both in most cases, generally somewhere between 12 and 24 months depending on how much correction is needed. Cost can vary too, though the difference is often smaller than people expect once you factor in the full treatment plan.

Neither option is objectively better — they're just suited to different situations. The best way to know which is right for you is a quick consultation, where we'll take a look at your specific case and walk you through exactly what to expect from each path.
